When we were approached by the owner of this statement house in Croyde, North Devon, we were totally thrilled. It was very dated in design and the layout just didn’t work as a holiday let property. This house is now available to rent through AirBnB.
We needed to firstly look at the layout, as there were five bedrooms but the living space didn’t lend itself to 8-10 people. So before looking at furniture etc, we opened up the ground floor to give more space and designated areas for dining, lounging and cooking. We also discussed the lack of bathrooms for the amount of bedrooms, and were able to manipulate the space to add an additional bathroom/ensuite.
There were also two staircases where only one was needed. VK were able to give drawings to the contractors and oversee the works to make the layout work for a holiday let. The owners lived away and we ensured everything stayed on budget and schedule.
The client was so pleased that the following year we completed extra works involving an extension build over the garage block and furnishing a further property in the grounds. We have worked for this client in both their London home and their Devon & Cornwall and holiday lets.
